Easy Route Walkthrough
Last updated: June 2026
Overview
The easy route is Star Fox 64's default campaign path — the one most players follow on their first playthrough without knowing the branching system exists. Fox McCloud and the Star Fox team launch from Corneria, push through the Meteo asteroid belt, defend the frozen base on Fichina, infiltrate the hidden outpost at Sector X, rescue Slippy on the desert world Titania, assault the Bolse defense satellite, and finally confront Andross on Venom. This seven-stage arc avoids the trickiest routing checks in the game and delivers the normal ending.
On Nintendo Switch 2, the easy route remains the recommended starting point for learning charged shots, loop maneuvers, and wingmate management before attempting the hard route or chasing Expert Mode medals. Each stage on this path has forgiving exit conditions: simply reach the end without triggering hidden warps or alternate objectives.
Stage-by-Stage Routing
Routing on the easy path means deliberately not activating alternate exits. Here is what to do — and what to avoid — at every branch point.
Mission 1: Corneria
Complete the mission normally by defeating Granga and proceeding to the Attack Carrier if it appears. Do not fly through all seven stone arches beneath the city; doing so sends you to Sector Y and off the easy path entirely. Saving Falco is still recommended for formation health and medal scoring, but it does not change your destination from Meteo.
Mission 2: Meteo
Progress through the asteroid field without entering all six warp rings. The rings are tempting because they grant bonus hits toward your medal, but passing through every ring warps you to Katina on the medium route instead of Fichina. Stick to the main corridor and destroy the Meteo Crusher at the end.
Mission 3: Fichina
Defend the base in the Landmaster, but destroy the Spyborg boss before the defense timer expires. If you protect all four pillars until the clock runs out, Peppy routes you directly to Titania and skips Sector X. For the full easy route experience, defeat Spyborg promptly to reach Sector X.
Mission 4: Sector X
Battle through the hidden base and defeat Spyborg again at the end. Do not destroy the secret hatch on the far wall — that shortcut opens the path to Macbeth. Standard completion sends you to Titania regardless of whether you found the hatch.
Mission 5: Titania
There is only one exit from Titania: complete the Landmaster rescue mission, defeat Goras, and proceed to Bolse. This stage has no branching, making it a reliable breather before the final assault.
Mission 6: Bolse
Destroy the six outer shield generators to expose the core, then eliminate the defense platform. Bolse always leads to Venom on the normal ending path. Star Wolf may appear here depending on your prior performance, but their presence does not change routing.
Mission 7: Venom
The normal ending awaits. Fight through the Venom defenses, defeat Golemech in the underground tunnel, and face Andross in his palace. This is not Venom II — you will not battle Star Wolf as a mandatory pre-boss encounter on this route.
Recommended Strategy Summary

| Fichina | Landmaster | 200 | Intercept enemies before they reach pillars |
| Sector X | Arwing | 150 | Explore side passages for hidden enemies |
| Titania | Landmaster | 150 | Shoot Goras tail first; clear bioweapons quickly |
| Bolse | Arwing | 150 | Take out shield nodes before chasing fighters |
| Venom | Arwing | 150 | Save bombs for Andross; follow Peppy's advice |
Medal Hunting on the Easy Route
The easy route totals 1,150 required hits across seven stages if you pursue every medal — a manageable goal for Expert Mode preparation. Meteo and Fichina carry the heaviest requirements at 200 each, while Sector X, Titania, Bolse, and Venom ask for 150. Corneria also requires 150 hits with all wingmates surviving.
Prioritize charged laser shots on group targets and use smart bombs during dense enemy waves. Avoid letting wingmates steal kills on Meteo by leading the formation and targeting clusters first. For detailed thresholds and Expert Mode unlock conditions, see the medal requirements page and Expert Mode guide.
Wingmate Management
Keeping all four Star Fox members alive through every easy-route stage is essential for medal eligibility and the best ending narration. Falco needs rescuing on Corneria when he flies into danger — respond to his call quickly. Slippy tends to struggle on Meteo's tight corridors, so clear enemies ahead of him. Peppy provides the most consistent support throughout and his hints on Venom are critical for the Andross fight.
On Landmaster stages, wingmates do not fly alongside you, but their survival still depends on the team's overall performance. Listen for Slippy's distress call on Titania and reach him before the bioweapons overwhelm his Arwing.
When to Move On
Once you can complete the easy route with most wingmates intact and at least a few medals, consider the medium route for Katina and Solar variety, or jump straight to the hard route if you want the true ending. The route planner tool lets you compare paths side by side before starting a new campaign.

Frequently Asked Questions
The easy route is the default path when you complete each stage without triggering alternate exits. It runs Corneria → Meteo → Fichina → Sector X → Titania → Bolse → Venom, ending with the normal Andross fight.
Saving Falco is not required for routing on the easy path, but it keeps your wing formation intact and helps you reach the 150-hit medal threshold on Corneria. Letting Falco get shot down does not change your destination from Meteo.
Yes. On Corneria, flying through all seven stone arches sends you to Sector Y instead of Meteo. On Meteo, passing through all six warp rings routes you to Katina. On Fichina, defending every pillar until the timer expires sends you to Titania early, skipping Sector X.
The easy route is one of the better medal runs because it includes high-scoring stages like Meteo (200 hits) and Fichina (200 hits) while avoiding Zoness, the hardest medal requirement at 250 hits. See our medal requirements guide for full thresholds.
No. The easy route ends at Venom with the standard Golemech and Andross boss sequence. To reach Venom II and fight Star Wolf before Andross reveals his true form, you must follow the hard route through Area 6.
You fly the Arwing on Corneria, Meteo, Sector X, Bolse, and Venom. Fichina and Titania switch you to the Landmaster tank. No Blue-Marine or all-range-only stages appear on this path, making it the most straightforward control experience.
