Titania — Desert Rescue
Last updated: June 2026
Overview
Titania is a desert planet rescue mission on the easy route, reached from Sector X or directly from Fichina via the pillar defense timer. Fox McCloud deploys in the Landmaster to rescue Slippy Toad, who crash-landed while investigating Andross's bioweapon activity on the planet surface. The stage features desert terrain, bioweapon enemies, and the Goras boss — a tail-whipping desert creature.
Titania has only one exit to Bolse, making it a straightforward stage with no routing pressure. It serves as the final Landmaster mission before the endgame assault on Bolse and Venom.
Route Triggers
Titania is a linear stage with a single exit:
- Bolse (automatic): Rescue Slippy and defeat Goras to proceed to Bolse. No hidden warps or alternate paths exist on Titania.
Titania can be reached via two paths on the easy route: standard completion of Sector X, or the Fichina pillar defense timer shortcut that skips Sector X entirely. Both entry paths play identically.
Boss Strategy
Goras: A bioweapon desert creature with a thick armored body and a whipping tail attack. Goras burrows underground and resurfaces near the Landmaster, swinging its tail in a wide arc.
Shoot Goras's tail first — it is the only vulnerable body part when the creature faces you. Charged cannon shots to the tail tip deal significant damage. When Goras burrows, watch for sand displacement indicating its resurfacing location and reposition to meet it. The tail whip covers nearly 360 degrees, so maintain distance and use hover jumps to clear the sweep. After the tail is destroyed, Goras's body becomes vulnerable to direct cannon fire. Smart bombs during the burrow-resurface animation catch Goras during its vulnerable emergence phase.
Medal Tips
Titania requires 150 hits for the medal. Bioweapon enemies scattered across the desert provide the primary scoring opportunities. Destroy bioweapons en route to Slippy's crash site rather than rushing directly to the objective.
The Landmaster's cannon has effective range against both ground and low-flying aerial targets. Use hover jumps to reach elevated bioweapons on rock formations for extra hits. Slippy's crashed Arwing area often has clustered enemies nearby — clear them for a hit boost before engaging Goras. The desert is open terrain, so backtracking to missed enemies is possible unlike corridor stages.
Wingmate Advice
Slippy is the focus of the rescue mission — he crash-landed before the stage begins and must be reached before bioweapons destroy his Arwing. Listen for Slippy's distress calls indicating his position and remaining health.
Other wingmates do not appear during the Landmaster mission, but Falco, Peppy, and their survival status carry over from previous stages. Slippy rejoins the team after rescue. Prioritize reaching Slippy quickly over farming hits — if his Arwing is destroyed by bioweapons before you arrive, it affects team morale and ending narration even though it does not fail the mission.
Switch 2 Remake Notes
Titania's desert terrain is open, allowing backtracking to missed bioweapons — unlike corridor stages where skipped enemies are gone forever. The Landmaster hover jump is essential for reaching Slippy's crash site over rocky outcrops. Goras's tail whip has a wider arc than it appears; maintain maximum cannon range when the tail is intact. Titania is the last Landmaster stage before Bolse on the easy route.
Bioweapon pods spawn continuously until you reach Slippy — treat the approach as a scoring opportunity rather than a race. After rescuing Slippy, the Goras fight begins immediately with no transition; enter the arena with full health by clearing pods along the way.
